New York columnist Frank Rich appeared on Tavis Smiley last night to discuss how GOP robot presidential candidate Mitt Romney is fruitlessly attempting to remake himself into a regular guy by loosening his collar a tad. “Romney is the most transparent phony,” Rich said. “He’s rolling up his shirtsleeves, he’s letting a few pieces of hair fall out of place, a little less hair gel, and we’re supposed to believe he’s Tom Joad in The Grapes of Wrath.” This Romney-as-average-Joe-at-the-unemployment-office shtick is really getting old.
