Is Tina Brown’s Newsweek a More Feminist Enterprise?

On the one hand, six of the fourteen covers since she took the reins of the magazine have featured women, compared with just one in the previous fourteen issues. On the other hand, those women — Hillary Clinton, the Olsen twins, Kate Middleton, a generic candidate’s wife, Middleton again with a Photoshop-aged Princess Diana, and Sarah Palin this week — probably weren’t entirely gracing the cover for their intellectual achievements, with one notable exception.
