Watch Video of New York City, Block by Block

MyBlockNYC is a user-generated video mapping site that launched Tuesday in the predawn hours. Its goal is to present a total picture of New York City using personal videos of its life and culture, block by block. “It’s like getting a mixtape,” says 26-year-old co-founder and filmmaker, Alex Kalman. “You don’t know what’s on it, so it’s the excitement of what’s the next track.” So far, users have uploaded quite the assortment. Traffic misdemeanors are being carried out by traffic cops. Little Bo Creep, a pink-taffeta-outfitted cross-dresser with a parrot, dances at the Central Park Driveway. And construction workers street-surf on metal slabs behind moving trucks.
