Memo to All Aspiring Novelists: Get Kristine Gasbarre’s Book Publicist

Whether it’s through amazing powers of persuasion (maybe), magical genitalia (also maybe), blackmail (eh), or favor-owing (almost definitely), someone representing Kristine Gasbarre managed to get her client’s book, How to Love An American Man, into the coveted lead item space on “Page Six.” And with Katherine Heigl, Anne Hathaway, Rachel McAdams, and Zooey Deschanel’s names in bold, no less! Apparently the book is making Hollywood agents “scramble”, even though there’s no script, the film rights haven’t been optioned, no stars are attached, and the book hasn’t even come out yet. (Thankfully, a rep for Deschanel — who author Gasbarre is quoted as desiring for the lead role — threw water on the story by saying there have been “zero” talks about the actress’s involvement.) This is about the best press based on nothing that you could ever get. And they say book publicists never do any work any more!
