If Michael Moore had his druthers, President Obama wouldn’t just politely disagree with S&P executives who decided to downgrade America’s sovereign credit rating — he’d arrest them. “Pres Obama, show some guts & arrest the CEO of Standard & Poors. These criminals brought down the economy in 2008& now they will do it again,” Moore tweeted yesterday. Arrest them on charges of … overzealous credit analysis? Not sure that’s going to work. However, the Senate Banking Committee is taking some action of its own:
The Senate Banking Committee has begun collecting information about Standard & Poor’s decision to downgrade U.S. debt, an aide said, adding that “all options remain on the table,” including whether to hold a hearing.
There you go, Michael Moore. A hearing.
