University Staffer Resigns After Affair With Boss’s Wife

Michael Schultz, an associate vice-president for development at the University of Vermont, has resigned after it was discovered that he had an affair with the wife of the school’s president Daniel Fogel, who also recently stepped down. Personnel changes in higher education are usually totally boring, but in this case there’s a couldn’t-make-this-stuff-up twist: Schultz wrote his dissertation on “the role of the university’s CEO’s spouse.” So it’s safe to say he’s an expert.
