They say that September 11, 2001, is one of those rare dates, like the day John F. Kennedy was assassinated or the day we landed on the moon, that everyone will vividly remember for as long as they live. That seems to be the case ten years later, at least among New Yorkers. According to a NY1/Marist poll, 97 percent of New Yorkers say they can recall where they were and what they were doing when they first heard about the 9/11 attacks, while just 3 percent cannot (and we suspect many of those who’ve forgotten were just kids at the time). We’re sure most of you remember, too, so feel free to share in the comments. I was in high-school biology class when the announcement came over the loud-speaker that a plane had hit one of the World Trade Center towers. We laughed at the idiot pilot who couldn’t manage to avoid an enormous building.
