The San Francisco Police Department confirmed yesterday that it has been helping Apple search for a “lost item” — including tracking it down, via GPS software, to a Bay Area home, where nothing was ultimately recovered. But seems whoever wrote up the press release inadvertently let the cat out of the bag, by titling it “iphone5.doc.” [Reuters]
