
It’s official: Kim Jong-Il’s roughly twentysomething son Kim Jong-un was stamped the “supreme leader” of North Korea’s ruling party, military, and people, the AP reports. On Thursday, ceremonial head of state Kim Yong Nam told crowds of mourning that Kim Jong-un inherits his father’s “ideology, character, and revolutionary” cause. Kim Yong Nam didn’t go so far as to say that the heir was born with his late father’s incredible golf game.
Bloomberg reported that on Wednesday, during funeral ceremonies for the fallen tyrant, the newly minted leader walked weeping alongside a hearse carrying the body of his father. Was it a natural human reaction to a loved one’s passing, or did something else reduce the man to tears?
