Newt Gingrich is a member of Trump National Golf Club in Northern Virginia. Membership fees are undisclosed, but when Trump took the property over, he promised a “very substantial” increase from the going $75,000 rate.
Gingrich’s spokesman, R.C. Hammond, confirmed Newt’s golf-playing and membership, but with a strange caveat: “I wouldn’t call what Newt does ‘golfing.’ I would say it is closer to walking with an occasional use of a golf club.”
But as it turns out, the Newt can actually golf, at least by the standards of Washington: He was No. 200 on Golf Digest’s 2005 list of “Washington’s Top 200.”
