Councilman Wants to Gift Thousands to Occupy Wall Street

New York City politician Ydanis Rodriguez, who was roughed up and arrested during the NYPD raid on Zuccotti Park, has requested permission from City Council Speaker Christine Quinn to donate his latest $5,000 leadership stipend to Occupy Wall Street, which he calls “the best thing to have happened in our city for the last couple of decades.” Although the group’s prominence has faded some, demonstrators say their war chest still contains over $200,000, and so they’re looking to hire an accountant
