Faking Your Child’s Death for Vacation Days Is Bad Karma

Costa Rica is nice, so we don’t blame a city high school employee for wanting to hit the beach down there in the spring of 2010. But when she couldn’t score the time off, maybe she should have thought twice before faking her own daughter’s death to get out of work, morbidly forcing her other daughters to push the lie at school and forging a death certificate got her the two and a half weeks off to enjoy the pura vida down in Costa Rica. But when her employer caught on, it cost the woman her job and bought her a ticket to Manhattan Criminal Court, reports the Daily News.
