Used Restaurant Grease Is Causing a Crime Wave

Thieves have been running wild, stealing leftover fryer oil, according to the New York Times. Restaurants would’ve welcomed the trend years ago when they had to pay companies to haul the waste off, but with demand for biofuel now high, the pungent sludge earns eateries some welcome extra income.  But prosecutors have not been eager to pursue the trash bandits.
