Greg Kelly Had ‘a Tough Couple of Weeks’

Fox 5’s Greg Kelly, the son of police commissioner Ray Kelly, returned to host Good Day New York this morning after a leave of absence while the Manhattan district attorney investigated rape claims against him. Kelly was not charged and went back to work today, receiving applause from off-camera at the start of the show. “Folks, thank you,” he said. “It was a tough couple of weeks, obviously, for a lot of people.” (Like his accuser.) Kelly continued, “I’m very, very grateful for all the support I had here at Fox 5, the support from my family, friends, those I care about, and the viewers of course. They’ve been just great.” He specifically thanked his co-host, Rosanna Scotto, and asked, “You ready to get back to work?”

I’m so happy you’re back,” Scotto said. “We’re going right back to where we left off.” Kelly responded playfully, “Well, I’m not sure about that. I don’t know if I want to work that hard. Today’s Friday, also.” That is something everyone can agree on.
