During an interview with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly last night, Mitt Romney was awkwardly cut off as the channel went to commercial, which led some in the Morning Joe panel today to wonder why Fox News has not yet gotten fully behind GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney. “They haven’t really embraced him, but they haven’t really embraced anybody,” said our own John Heilemann. The assumption was that Fox News would inevitably line up behind someone and that someone probably was supposed to be New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Now, Mitt Romney is acting like the inevitable nominee, which Heilemann says is turning some Republicans off (and possibly Fox News as well?). “It’s almost like he has not yet totally come to terms with the fact that he is no longer the inevitable candidate, [but] projects this aura of ‘I am still inevitable,’” Heilemann said.” It’s just not an inspiring message.”
