Mark Iacono, the owner of Carroll Gardens’ beloved Lucali pizzeria, talked to Grub Street about the thing that made him more famous than his pizza: last year’s stabbing incident, in which a guy named Benny Geritano took a knife to him multiple times. Iacono says, contrary to rumor, it wasn’t about a girl, and that he wishes people wouldn’t say he’s in the mob. “I know everybody loves a good mafia story but … that stuff doesn’t even really exist anymore; it’s in the past.”
