Former presidential candidate Rick Perry sat down with Fox and Friends today to chuckle, reminisce, and tackle the question that absolutely nobody’s asking: would he do President Newt Gingrich the honor of being his second-in-command? The answer: thanks, but no thanks. “Texas governor versus VP?” Perry said. “The balance on that one isn’t even close.”
Funnily enough, the Gingrich campaign also dismissed rumors that Perry will join the ticket if and when Newt gets the nomination. (Of course, for that to happen, Gingrich would have to secure about 1,003 more delegates or stage the biggest convention upset in history.)
But at least Governor Perry has graciously bowed out of the cutthroat race to be his vice president, with plenty of time to spare.
