White Supremacist Claims to Have Hacked Trayvon Martin’s Email, Social Media Accounts

According to a report on Gawker, a white supremacist has hacked of Trayvon Martin’s email and social-media presences, including his Facebook and Twitter accounts. On the ever-charming message board 4chan, a user going by the even more charming name Klanklannon has posted a series of slides that, in the words of Gawker’s Adrian Chen, they seem to feel is evidence that Martin was “a Scary Black Teenager and so somehow deserved to be killed:”

A slide titled “Trayvon Martin Used Marijuana Habitually,” features an exchange between Trayvon and a friend about getting high. Another slide, “Trayvon Martin was a Drug Dealer,” features Facebook messages and photos that supposedly prove Martin dealt drugs, including a picture of Martin posing “aggressively with a large amount of cash in his hand.”

As Chen notes, it’s difficult to determine whether or not the screenshots are real, especially considering the source. Klanklannon apparently also posted a list of Martin’s usernames and passwords (with all of the passwords changed to racial slurs) as proof of the materials’ authenticity. Since then, someone seems to have deactivated most of the accounts, including a Gmail, screenshots of which a more well-meaning user provided to Gawker:

A screenshot of Trayvon’s Gmail inbox our source provided us is heartbreaking. Martin apparently used his Gmail account for his college search, and it’s filled with emails about upcoming SAT tests and scholarship applications. (“Trayvon, now is the best time to take the SATs!”) One email included the results of a career aptitude test, our source said. It “talked about his interest in aeronautics and stuff.”

Of course, whether or not any of these things are real, the only thing the episode proves is that there are some incredibly disgusting people in the world.
