America’s Smallest Town Sells to Vietnamese Businessmen for $900,000

America’s smallest town, Buford, Wyoming, population one, sold today for a notch under $1 million to a pair of Vietnamese businessmen who discovered the auction online. The bidding started at $100,000 for Buford and its ten acres of land, which include a few buildings, a gas station, and a cell phone tower. The town’s only resident, Don Sammons, bought the stop along Interstate 80 in 1990 and now will pack up to live near his son in Colorado. “I don’t know when it will hit me,” Sammons said. “I’ve lived here half my life. I’m an emotional person, and I hope I handle it in an adult manner.” Sammons held back tears, but check back in a month when the businessmen turn the man’s memories into a truck stop.
