Ann Coulter Is Not Onboard With Impeaching Obama

Earlier this month, Republican congressman Todd Akin of Missouri told constituents that the only reason President Obama hasn’t been impeached yet is because “you’re never going to get something through the Senate” — the implication being that Obama has committed impeachable offenses. But conservative firebrand Ann Coulter doesn’t agree. “No,” she told us at the Time 100 gala last night, when we asked if she thought Obama should be impeached. “We’re going to beat him fair and square this November and my man Romney is going to do it.”

While Coulter is no fan of Obama, she tends to be old-fashioned when it comes to impeachment. “In order to impeach a President, he has to commit an impeachable offense,” she tells us, sensibly. “I agree with Mitt Romney that Obama’s been a terrible president, but Obama hasn’t committed an impeachable offense, at least as far as I know. At least nothing I’ve seen has been impeachable. He’s a bad president. You’re allowed to be a bad president.”
