Even Pat Robertson Says He’s Against Bullying Gay Kids

What kind of horrible man would advocate bullying children? Maybe the same one who once blamed September 11 on “the pagans and the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians.” And yet on The 700 Club yesterday, Pat Robertson sounded downright reasonable when asked about Christian children making the lives of their gay peers miserable. “Well, I think that’s terrible and Christians shouldn’t do that,” he said. “I mean, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, blah, blah, blah.” Hey, he’s far from perfect

They ought to act in love,” Robertson continued. “You might disagree, you may think that these practices are an abomination, you can think all sorts of things, but you need to love. And you need to reach out to these kids in love.”

It’s not exactly a run-from-Christ moment, and it doesn’t make up for constantly calling homosexuality the devil’s work, but when paired with accepting views on legalizing marijuana, it almost seems like the old man is going soft.
