
Michael Pena was convicted in March of sexually assaulting a young teacher at gunpoint, but the jury failed to reach a verdict on the rape charges despite testimony from eyewitnesses and the victim. Regardless of technicalities, a judge gave him 75 years to life today and slammed the fired cop for violating his oath and the woman “in the most brutal and degrading manner possible.” Prosecutors have until May 23 to request a retrial on the rape charges.
