This court sketch shows Zarein Ahmedzay, an alleged associate of Afghan immigrant Najibullah Zazi, appears in court in New York on January 8, 2010 to be charged with making false statements to the FBI in connection with an al-Qaeda-linked plot to bomb New York around last year’s anniversary of the September 11 attacks. Ahmedzay was arrested earlier in the day by Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents along with Bosnian immigrant Adis Medunjanin, who has yet to be charged.
Bosnian–born American citizen Adis Medunjanin, who plotted to blow himself up on a New York City subway train, has been found guilty on all counts, and now faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
