Just because Facebook is a publicly traded company now doesn’t mean it’s going to alter its tried-and-true tradition of quietly changing things and then (sort of) apologizing later. The newest flap occurred this week, when Facebook removed everyone’s e-mail addresses and replaced them with the @Facebook.com ones that were automatically registered for all users. Today a spokesperson told the Journal that “in hindsight,” the change could’ve been communicated more effectively. “I’m sorry” means it won’t happen again, but they didn’t really say that, so it will.
