We See What You Did There, Mitt Romney

It has been well noted that President Obama’s claim last week that “the public sector is doing fine” was an epically tone-deaf screw-up on par with John McCain’s assertion in September of 2008 that the “fundamentals of the economy are strong.” Now the Romney campaign is making the connection explicit in its new TV ad, an almost exact duplicate — down to the music — of the ad Obama ran publicizing McCain’s “fundamentals” remark. Finally, Obama knows what it feels like to be John McCain, minus the crotchetiness.
