A small group of loud protesters made enough of an impact at Romney’s brief stop in Ohio that his campaign staff felt it necessary move a set of speakers into the middle of the group to try to drown out the “Romney go home!” jeers, the Associated Press reports. Romney supporters (and hecklers) had gathered for the “abbreviated” speech in House Speaker John Boehner’s hometown of Troy, Ohio. Romney addressed them from the bed of a pickup truck, hoping to send a strong message by standing on blue-collar objects.
