It was a bold choice. According to police, 49-year-old Chris Meier “intentionally” drove his sedan onto the course at Deepdale Golf Club in Manhasset Tuesday evening, where he ripped up the grounds and hit two golf carts, one of which was occupied by a golfer who had to jump to avoid getting hit. Police charged Meier with DWI, among other things. With some iron-y, Meier’s joyride ended when his car got stuck where dreams go to die on the links: In a sand trap.
