During his first solo stump speech in Iowa as Mitt Romney’s official running mate today, Paul Ryan faced a crowd peppered with hecklers shouting, among other things, “Stop the war on the middle class.” At least two people were removed from the event while Ryan was speaking. Sounding a bit like a young comedian at an open mike night, Ryan addressed the disturbance: “You know, it’s funny, because Iowans and Wisconsinites, we like to be respectful of one another and peaceful with one another and listen to each other. These ladies must not be from Iowa or Wisconsin.” Way harsh.
