Florida senator Marco Rubio appeared on the Daily Show Tuesday to make up for a canceled interview, on same the day that the rest of his party gathered in his home state to formally anoint Mitt Romney their presidential nominee. Nevertheless, the interview provided some drama when host Jon Stewart subtly pointed out how … Democratic Rubio sounded (not that there’s anything wrong with that) when he spoke about the government creating conditions for private sector employment and incentivizing investment in the economy. “Wasn’t the stimulus some of that?” Stewart asked. Rubio then recoiled and began discussing what he considers lasting things, like a permanent tax code.
“We have 90 percent of the bill agreed to and written. We just have some of the last decisions to be made.”
