The MTA has suspended blasting work on the tunnel until they figure out what caused last week’s accidental (and scary) aboveground explosion on 72nd Street. The controlled explosions were set to end by Labor Day, but a spokesman says it’s now “unclear how delayed the completion” of that work will be.
