Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi Prefers the Original Planet of the Apes

“I remember a movie. Which one? Planet of the Apes. The old version, not the new one. There is a new one. Which is different. Not so good.” — Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, in TIME’s new cover story “The Most Important Man in the Middle East,” kicks off a confusing metaphor about democracy or the Supreme Court or something. But does he mean the Mark Wahlberg version from 2001, or did an international leader just start a beef with James Franco?
