
Buildings used to store NYPD evidence, including DNA samples, were among those damaged during Hurricane Sandy, Ray Kelly announced today, although it’s too soon for the city’s underworld to start celebrating. “We’re still trying to sort through this and assess the total damage,” he explained, opting not to describe whether the facilities, including one in Greenpoint, were holding evidence for forthcoming trials or past convictions.
