Seaside Heights, New Jersey, mayor Bill Akers regrets his proposal that the roller coaster pulled off of the boardwalk and into the Atlantic Ocean by Hurricane Sandy would make a “great tourist attraction.” Apart from the environmental concerns and tragedy the destroyed ride represents, it’s actually private property anyway and therefore “not my decision,” Akers clarified. “It was not the brightest comment.”
