Lieberman’s Last Hurrah: Statehood Bill for D.C.

Trying to finish up what he calls “unfinished business,” Joe Lieberman on Wednesday introduced one of his last pieces of legislation, along with Senators Dick Durbin, Patty Murray, and Barbara Boxer: a bill to make Washington, D.C. the 51st state, called New Columbia (and finally turning those Taxation Without Representation license plates into antiques). Here’s hoping it passes just so we can see how they work out the flag redesign.
