When this year’s New York City Marathon was canceled after Hurricane Sandy, thousands of runners were left confused, angry, and out of a few hundred bucks, which some thought was as bad as having your home washed away. (Instead of complaining, the decent ones volunteered.) Today, the Road Runners organization outlined its plan to award full refunds to those who were signed up for the race, or otherwise allow them guaranteed entry for the next three years, although additional fees will apply. “We are sorry that it has taken us longer to resolve these issues than we had originally hoped,” said the group in its announcement, which should please the impatient jerk who wrote on the race’s Facebook page, “Hurry up! I need to build my 2013 Marathon calendar!”
