Campaign finance disclosures for the period between October 18 and November 26 were released on Thursday, and with all the donations tallied, President Obama raised $1.1 billion for his reelection while Mitt Romney’s total was $1.01 billion. And they weren’t even able to spend it all. Though both campaigns spent more than $100 million in the final days of the campaign, Obama had $14 million on hand at the end of the election and Romney had $24.4 million. The Romney campaign said it’s still processing invoices for “pre-election expenses” and expects to have less than $1 million at the end of the year, so Republicans shouldn’t start getting any ideas.
