A day after a deadly raid killed the last of the Al Qaeda–linked terrorists who’d holed up at an isolated gas refinery in the Algerian desert, the gruesome discovery of 25 badly disfigured bodies (possibly hostages) has pushed the AP’s death count to at least 81. Speaking on Fox News Sunday, senior White House adviser David Plouffe said that Al Qaeda and its allies are on the move in northern Africa and and will continue to “use civilians to try and advance their twisted and sick agenda.” Meanwhile, other officials warn that the final death tally may rise even higher.
