New York City Apparently Has a ‘Finders, Keepers’ Policy for Abandoned Subway Babies

In the Times today, playwright Peter Mercurio recalls the time that his partner Danny found a day-old baby in the subway twelve years ago. To everyone’s surprise, a judge gave Danny first dibs on adopting the baby, which he did.
