Bob Woodward and White House Economic Council Director Gene Sperling’s weird sequester op-ed misunderstanding seems to have come to a close. In an appearance on ABC’s This Week, Sperling called Woodward “a legend” and spoke about their “very friendly and respectful relationship” of 20 years. He added: “I hope that him and I can put this behind us.” Soon after, on CBS’s Face the Nation, Woodward accepted the olive branch, calling Sperling “a peacemaker.” He even offered up a venue for an official truce: “I’m going to invite [Sperling] over to my house if he’ll come and hopefully he’ll bring others from the White House, maybe the president himself, and we can — you know, talking really works.” After all, there’s nothing Woodward likes more than hosting the big shots.
