Late Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez had battled cancer for the last two years of his life, but it was a heart attack that finally killed him, his head of security, Gen. Jose Ornella, told the Associated Press. And it was not a peaceful death. The AP makes reference to Chávez’s “great suffering,” and reports that Ornella, who was with Castro when he died, “said that in his final moments Chávez could not speak aloud, but mouthed: ‘I don’t want to die. Please don’t let me die.’”
