Army Employee Dead in Fort Knox Shooting

Reuters

Details are still scarce in a shooting at Fort Knox Wednesday, but local station WDRB is reporting that one person is dead in what Army investigators are calling a “personal incident and not a random act of violence.” The victim, who was shot to death in a parking lot at about 5:40 p.m., was a civilian employee of the U.S. Army Human Resources Command. Police are on the lookout for someone in connection with the shooting, but so far he hasn’t been referred to as a suspect. Reuters reports that they’re seeking a “tall black man driving a medium-sized, four-door brown car with tinted windows who may have driven off the base.” WDRB, meanwhile, reports that he’s thought to be driving a Yamaha motorcycle. What with that shooting late last month at Marine Corps Base Quantico, this has been a rough few weeks for on-base violence.
