Though some have criticized Bill Clinton for staying on the sidelines in the push for marriage equality, apparently all is forgiven — at least, as far as GLAAD is concerned. The organization announced on Wednesday that the former president will be the first recipient of its “Advocate for Change” award, which will be presented at a ceremony next month. In a statement, GLAAD praises Clinton for supporting gay marriage in New York and urging the Supreme Court to strike down DOMA, but does not note that the federal marriage law and “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” were enacted under the Clinton administration.
