Nanny City Wants Times Square Characters to Register

What won’t New York City regulate? Not much these days, but those costumed characters that pose for pictures for tips make the shrinking list. However, after a Cookie Monster allegedly shoved a toddler, City Councilman Peter Vallone is now talking about banning the photogenic furries or at least making them register and get a license. Anti-semitic Elmo, Molesting Mario — as far as things the city should keep track of, these guys seem to warrant attention at least as much attention as a large sodas.
