Jay-Z only owns a small share of the Brooklyn Nets, just one fifteenth of a percent, the New York Times reported last August, but despite that relatively small investment, he’s a huge part of the team’s image. Now that the star has started the process of selling his shares (worth about $350,000, tweets ESPN’s Darren Rovell) so he can become an agent, the Nets are about to lose not just a small investor but a big Brooklyn personality.
