Nearly four days after Lindsey Graham, John McCain, Peter King, and a bunch of other prominent Republican lawmakers began calling on President Obama to declare Dzhokhar Tsarnaev an enemy combatant — and one day after that debate became moot — Rand Paul has finally come out in favor of treating Tsarnaev just like every other American citizen accused of heinous crimes. Some people (cough cough) had been wondering why Paul had gone missing on a subject (Constitutional rights) so dear to his heart.
“I think we can still preserve the Bill of Rights,” Paul said on Fox Business this morning. “I see no reason why our Constitution is not strong enough to convict this young man with a jury trial, with the Bill of Rights.”
