At Least the Subway’s Middle East Ad War Is Profitable

A year and a half after the MTA tried to block the infamous “savages” ad, the debate on Middle East policy rages on in the New York City subway, with a pro-Israel group buying ads that say “Stop U.S. aid to Islamic states” in response to last month’s “Stop U.S. aid to Israel” campaign. The New York Times reports that there’s a silver lining to the frequently offensive ads: The cash-strapped MTA is bringing in hundreds of thousands of dollars from political groups. That does make those ads seem less annoying … but just slightly.
