After about six months underground, Paula Broadwell, the former Army intelligence officer and David Petraeus biographer whose affair with the former CIA director led to his resignation, has reemerged to say … nothing much. While she “has remorse for the harm that [the scandal] has caused, the sadness it has caused my family and other families,” she’s “not focused on the past,” Broadwell told Charlotte ABC affiliate WSOC in a pre–Memorial Day interview. Though there’s “still some healing to do,” she credits her husband for standing by her through last fall’s relatively brief but very intense media flare-up, and is currently working for veterans’ charities: “Even when you’ve made mistakes in life you can still contribute and pick up the stuff and move on.” Just like everybody else did.
