Federal Hurricane Sandy Relief Has Officially Begun

Today, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan announced the government’s approval of the city’s Community Development Block Grant Recovery Action Plan, which will specifically designate where these bucket loads of money will be spent. The targets mostly include homeowner repairs, small businesses, and infrastructure renovations for the MTA and other agencies. With the approval, the city can finally start receiving the much-needed funds from Washington. Let the $1.77 billion spending spree begin.
