New NYC Teen Sex App Only a Little Bit Creepy

NYC Health Commissioner Tom Fairley doesn’t own a smartphone. Luckily, all the teenagers using his agency’s newest app to combat teen pregnancy and STDs most likely do. Available now, Teens in NYC Protection+ is the name of the Department of Public Health’s newest handheld product released today for both iPhones and Droids, the latest in an effort by the agency to spread awareness on the teen pregnancy front (we’re sure you’ve all seen those subway ads by now, right?). The app guides teenagers in the direction of screenings, birth control, and clinics, and, if you’re afraid to tell your parents about your “first time,” the app will also dole out advice on how to handle these strange times in every teen’s life.
