Federal prosecutors on Monday charged three NYU researchers with commercial bribery conspiracy for sharing their work on MRI technology with a Chinese company. Only two were arrested as the third had already fled to China, Reuters reports. The lead researcher, Yudong Zhu, allegedly received $400,000, from an executive with China’s United Imaging Healthcare. His assistants, Xing Yang and Ye Li, didn’t receive cash, but allegedly had their tuition and rent paid for, respectively. We are way beyond briefcases full of money.
